We invite you to meet and learn a little bit about some of our new members, welcome to the ILA network!

Marc Cardinael
Marc CARDINAEL has 20 years experience in international business development and financing as investment manager, investor, entrepreneur and director.
Since 2001, he developed the private equity portfolio of BIP investment Partners, a 500 M€ investment firm spun off from Banque Générale du Luxembourg. His activities cover international and local PE investments being venture capital, high yield Debt, LBO, fund of funds, and numerous director mandates. In 2013, he signed as buy-in manager the MBI on an international luxury eyewear company based in Luxembourg and Miami. In 2017, after the turnaround of the company, he sold his shares.
Previously, Marc Cardinael developed automotive projects for Delphi Automotive in France, italy, Germany, Korea and California for 10 years.
Marc holds a Master in Engineering from the UCL (Belgium), a Master in Industrial Management from KUL (Belgium). He is Certified International Investment Analyst (Zurich) and is an INSEAD International Executive (IEP 2007). He speaks fFrench, Dutch, English, Italian, German and Luxembourgish. He is in the process of being certified as Compliance Officer in the Alternative Investments segment.


Petra Duselman
Petra Dunselman has set up the Luxembourg office of Amco (Luxembourg) S.A., later Wilmington Trust SP Services (Luxembourg) S.A., and has been the Managing Director for the past 15 years. She has over two decades of experience in the corporate/ financial services sector with expertise in providing corporate services to international clients, multinationals as well as private clients, in holding/ finance, private equity and securitization.
Previously, she was a (senior) account/portfolio manager in the corporate services departments of Amaco Curacao and Amaco Amsterdam, and before that with Credit Lyonnais and Banque Paribas in the Netherlands, responsible for the management of teams providing corporate services to international clients.
Petra holds a Master’s Degree in European Studies with Languages, Economics and Law from the University of Amsterdam. She is fluent in Dutch, French, English and German, and conversational in Italian and Spanish.


Tor Erland Fyksen
Several years of International business development and since 2000 experience from customer finance, encompassing operations and credit risk management. Co-founder and project manager for the establishment of two banks. Several years of experience from managing large international procurements projects in offshore and utilities sector. Also worked as consultant and advisor for private and public organisations engaged in change management projects, implementation of financial control systems and implementation of training programs.
Specialties: Strategy and marketing, international business development, project management, enterprise risk and credit risk management, and business process engineering/outsourcing and operations.


Aleksandra Goliasz
Aleksandra is a Company Administrator at the European Fund Administration in Oaktree Capital Management in Luxembourg. She is specialising in providing legal and administration services to private equities and real estate companies, including incorporation thereof, the preparation, organization and conduction of board and shareholders' meetings, coordination and management of specific transactions and liaising with the relevant parties involved therewith (e.g. banks, notaries, foreign and local counsels, public administration etc.)
Previously she was working at Orangefield (Luxembourg) S.A. (now Vistra Luxembourg S.à r.l.) where she was a Senior Administrative Officer. Ms. Goliasz focused on Co-Sec for the real estate portfolios. Prior thereto, she worked for Citco REIF (Luxembourg) S.A. as a secretary on the real estate companies. Ms. Goliasz received a Landscape Engineer degree in Landscape Architecture from University of Ecology and Management in Warsaw and a Master degree in Environmental Protection Management from University of Ecology and Management in Warsaw. She accomplished Luxembourg Company Law, The Legal Steps in the Life of the Company and General accounting: current operations at Luxembourg Lifelong Learning Center in Luxembourg.
Aleksandra is fluent in Polish, English and French.


Guy Knepper
Guy has over 28 years of experience in the local financial services industry having worked in senior positions as desk head for most of his career in a universal, asset servicing and in an investment bank. He has set-up and developed the securities lending & financing desks at KBL European Private Bankers and Caceis Bank and headed the local entity of Merrill Lynch Luxembourg. He has a strong exposure to the investment fund industry since 1993 and was involved as a steering group member in some very important multi-million EURO IT-projects. Besides being an approved director by the financial sector regulator « CSSF » (Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier), he is also approved by the Luxembourg insurance supervision commission « CAA » (Commissariat aux Assurances) and by the Ministry of Economics as economic advisor. He has successfully concluded the European Bank Academy EBAL and holds an MBA in financial studies from Sheffield Hallam University, UK. He is fluent in German, French, English and Luxembourgish and has a good basis in Italian. As a securities finance prefessional, he was featured in several industry specific publications and interviews and has won several awards during his tenure at Caceis Bank.
Guy currently sits on the board of specialized investment vehicles and is since 2016 an independent director & Partner of Intabulis SCSp. Luxembourg.
He is a member of ILA (Institut Luxembourgeois des Administrateurs) and of ALRiM (Association Luxembourgeoise de Risk Management).


Markus Leininger
Markus Leininger is an independent director in the field of banking/finance and real estate business. Since 2012 he is a partner in SIMRES Real Estate, a Luxembourg based real estate/private equity advisory boutique. As a Luxembourg resident, he advises clients in Continental Europe and is a manager on various boards of regulated and un-regulated Luxembourg based vehicles.
For 17 years he served in different roles with RHEINHYP Rheinische Hypothekenbank AG and EUROHYPO AG, where he originated and structured commercial real estate loans in Continental Europe and Israel. He was leading a team of 60 multi-cultural professionals and managed a loan portfolio of approx. EUR 10bln. From 1997-99 he was setting up RHEINHYP-BRE Bank Hipoteczny SA, as one of the first Polish mortgage banks after WWII and created RHEINHYP’s presence in the United States around the millennium.
Markus is a certified bank clerk (“Bankkaufmann”) and graduated as Diplomkaufmann in Business Administration at Justus-Liebig-University of Giessen. He speaks German (native language), English (fluent), French (extended), Polish and Russian (elementary).


Philippe Lorenzi
Philippe Lorenzi is one of the shareholder of Ionodes Inc a Canadian Corporation specialized in the design, development and manufacture of high quality IP-based video transmission and data processing solutions. He opened the Branch Office of Ionodes in Luxembourg 1.5 years ago in order to expand and support clients in EMEA. Philippe Lorenzi since over 20 years is a serial entrepreneur with technical background in Chemistry acting as Executive for Technology Start-Up and SME in software, Telecom, IT, Chemistry mainly B2B Industry.
Bi-cultural Canadian and French (Double Citizenship) living for 20 years in Canada, Philippe Lorenzi was Board member of various Technology start-up leveraging its technical expertise with strong Business judgment and Corporate Strategy to develop industrial corporations at the international level.. Philippe is currently completing ILA sessions to become Board Secretary and further Certified Independent Administrator in Luxembourg.
Philippe holds a Master of Science in Chemistry University of Grenoble/France, A Master of Business from Audencia Nantes/France and an MBA from Laval/Canada. He speaks Fluent English, French and Spanish


Radek Pawlowski
Radek Pawlowski is an international lawyer with over 10 years of experience in private equity (PE) and venture capital (VC), finance, M&A, restructuring, investor relations as well as corporate governance and regulatory matters, especially in Luxembourg, CEE and USA, advising on strategy and implementation of complex local or international structuring investment projects including with respect to any relevant tax aspects. He is an expert on alternative investment fund structuring and AIFMD.
Radek Pawlowski acts as an advisor and business facilitator among various stakeholders including fund sponsors, service providers (e.g., investment advisors, administrators, banks and depositories) as well as financial market supervisory institutions.
He is an active member of management and supervisory boards of numerous holding companies and general partners of PE, growth and VC funds in Luxembourg (and other jurisdictions) as well large operating companies in the CEE and other emerging markets, spanning across wide-ranging industries, including: insurance, waste management, renewable energy, professional online services, aviation, infrastructure and real estate. He is a former director of an authorized AIFM.
Radek Pawlowski has previously worked at White & Case and Kaye Scholer in New York, holds degrees from Yale University and Hofstra University and has also studied in Germany and Belgium. He is a native English and Polish speaker and communicates in German, Spanish and Italian.


Jose Luis Rodriquez Alvarez
José Luis Rodriguez Alvarez is the managing director of BBVA LuxInvest S.A and Scaldis Finance S.A. (Belgium). He is a member of the board of BBVA’s mutual funds in Luxembourg reporting to both BBVA Asset Management business line and BBVA Accounting and Supervisors department. Previously, he was appointed director in several banks in the Privanza network within the BBVA group in charge of the cease of the international private banking activities.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in international trade (EPHEC), a master in Economics and Social Policy (Université Mons-Hainaut) and he completed an Executive Management Program at the IESE Business School in Madrid. José Luis speaks Spanish, French and English.
José Luis is currently the Vice Chairman of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Belgium and Luxembourg.


Douglass Welch
Doug Welch is a Non-Executive Director primarily working within the financial services sector. A Californian native, Welch spent most of his career working in either London or Frankfurt.
Welch is expert in risk management and specialises in derivative products on both debt and equity assets. His early career started on the trading floor of the LIFFE Exchange before joining Salomon Brothers to focus on the arbitrage trading strategies of Hedge Funds. Later working with Citigroup, his focus expanded to include the creation of Alternative Investment structures for sophisticated investors. Instrumental in setting up the Emerging Market (CEEMEA) equity derivative trading activities for Citigroup, he led the negotiations with local regulators on product suitability and capital controls requirements. A significant proportion of the EM business was centred around Commodities and Fund-of-Funds investment.
More recently, Welch developed the debt securities sales-trading franchise for UniCredit Bank, which specialised in the re-financing of real estate and private equity debt, primarily through Convertibles. He also represented his fellow UK work colleagues as their representative on the European Works Council. In his private life, he is active in the voluntary sector, assisting in the training of special needs dogs and pro-bono charity trustee roles.
